Emin's wide-ranging oeuvre includes drawing, sculpture, video, photography, painting, and needlework. Her work has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions.
In 1999 she was short listed for the Turner Prize at the Tate Gallery, London. Solo exhibitions include “Tracey Emin”, Haus der Kunst, Munich, Germany (2002); “Ten Years”, Stedelijk, Museum of Modern Art, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2002); “Monoprints”, Museo de Bellas Artes, Santiago, Chile (2004); “Tracey Emin 20 Years”, Centro de Arte Contemporaneo de Malaga (2008); Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh, UK (2008); Kunstmuseum Bern, Switzerland (2009) and “Love is What You Want”, The Hayward Gallery, London, England (2011) In 2007, she represented Britain at the Venice Biennale.
